We have lost an honored member today

Ryan Morgan went missing on the Little White Salmon River late yesterday afternoon during a kyaking trip. His body was located this morning. You can read the whole story here in the Molalla Pioneer Newspaper story.

I'd like so say a bit about Ryan and his impact on this network.

When I first formed this network, and announced it at the Mulino Hamlet meeting several months ago, many people were interested, but not interested enough to s… Continue

There's a link in the News collumn on the left at the main page.

This is the first in what I hope will be a long line of monthly editions. If anyone would be interested in writing articles for the directory that I might include as a supplement or insert, let me know.

As posted in the news collumn, members listing in the directory will be entitled to a larger ad in the next edition which will be out the 8th of August. You can have a blurb about your farm, business, etc. and you can include a fu… Continue

New Produce Stand Opens in Mulino

Just wanted to let everyone know that the produce stand in Mulino that has been closed for the past several years has reopened under new management. The fellow who is running the stand would like to carry produce/products from as many local farms as would be willing to sell through him. I'll be selling my excess produce there.

Let's all get together and support this new business that wants to support local agriculture in the area.

He has some fruit and melons available right now.

Virtual farmers market UK

Hi
I was very interested to read your article on the virtual farmers market.... I have in the UK created a virtual farmers market in second life. We are in the proses of moving it to its own platform so we won it out right and no longer have to host it there. We have 34 producers in the UK using the market at the moment and have had over 500 visitors since we opened. Each stall has the producer talking to you on a 2 min video clip. They explain why there product is so great and shows you it as t… Continue

Mulino CSA Network - Virtual Farmers Market

Hi all,

I was reading in Farmers' Markets Today magazine, about virtual farmers' markets. Part of the mission of the Mulino CSA Network is to provide ways to connect farms/market gardeners and customers, as well as to network farms, market gardeners, service providers, etc. with each other.

The way I see it is that if we all help each other out, then we have a better chance of surviving in business proffitably. To that end, I've been looking at forming a virtual farmer's market. An online port… Continue

USDA taking public comments on new mandatory NAIS implementation. USDA has decided to make NAIS ID, for premises and animals mandatory in conjunction with all federal disease control program activities. This is essentially what they had decided to do and which USDA/APHIS memo 575.19 which was recinded by another memo issued in December.
